《艺术英语 文化阅读》(第1册)(Enqlish Reading on Arts and Culture)是“艺术英语系列教材”之一，作为广西艺术学院学生的英语校本教材使用。每单元安排围绕单元主题的Text A、Text B、Text C、Text D四篇课文，每篇课文各有侧重，Text A 可供教师用于课堂教学，Text C 可供学生自主学习使用，Text B和Text D则可作为学生的自主检测材料。Text A和Text C的生词按照出现在文章的顺序呈现在文章的末尾，供学生在无法通过上下文或构词法等猜测词义时快速查看。Text B和Text D的生词和短语则列在课文前面，使得学生在进行自主检测时对文章的生词有一个基本的了解。Text A 和Text C的Notes版块对文中出现的文化现象作了注解和说明。此外，各篇文章末均标明字数，以便于估算阅读速度。教材收入Guangxi Arts University，Art Institutes，Masters and Works，Dramas，Chinese Operas，Painting Schools，Movies，Knowledge of Art，Festivals等内容，创造性地加入了广西艺术学院和广西本地文化的内容，帮助学生掌握文化艺术的一般用语和本科学生英语考级（包括二、四、六级）所需掌握的主要词汇。

总主编宁立正，教授，广西艺术学院公共课教学部副主任。研究方向：教学法、应用语言学、翻译学。曾到加拿大学习并获TESL证。主要译著有《漓江画派名家名作概览》等。
